About to Escape to Malaysia, 4 Rohingya Foreigners Arrested by Bengkalis Immigration

LAMANRIAU.COM PEKANBARU – Four women who are citizens of Myanmar, Rohingya, have been secured by Bengkalis Immigration officers. The four wanted to go to Malaysia illegally from the Medan area.

They are Sobika Begum, Ayesha Bibi, and Hajera Bibi and Norbaha who have been arrested at Pasir Putih beach, Putri Sembilan Village, North Rupat District, Bengkalis Regency. The four of them headed to Malaysia using a speedboat which happened to be damaged in the area.

“Initially it was secured by the Riau Police Satpolairud last Thursday. Then it was handed over to the Bengkalis Immigration Office to be returned to Medan,” said Head of the Immigration Division of the Riau Ministry of Law and Human Rights, M Tito Adrianto, Monday, August 2, 2021.

Details Tito after being examined, 3 people have UNHCR Refugee cards, while 1 person claimed to have lost his card while in India.

From the thwarting operation, a number of pieces of evidence were also secured by officers. Such as 1 Unit Speedboat, 1 Unit 40 PK engine Yamaha brand, and 1 Unit engine 30 PK Yamaha brand.

Then, 1 unit of Nokia C2 brand mobile phone, 1 piece of gray clothing bag, 1 black jeans jacket, 1 blue jacket and 1 gray short training pants. (MCR)
